As GLEW and ERLAFS funding drew to a close and government
priorities shifted focus away from Global Learning, The school links
continued with new schools joining the programme from both Wales
and Zanzibar. Additional funding was sourced through the Wellspring
fund in the USA to support education activities in Zanzibar.

Technical support is provided to Xstrata, in Mauritania, to support the
preparation of an Environmental and Social Impact Assessment for a
planned iron ore mine.
